1.7 hectare fire east of Oyama Lake under control Published 9:29 am Monday, July 13, 2026 A wildfire at Park Lakes is now under control according to the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS). After being discovered on Sunday, July 12, the blaze grew to a size of 1.7 hectares before being put under control.

The BCWS responded to the fire with an initial attack grew as well as two helicopters and airtankers. Crews had put the wildfire under control by the night of July 12. The last update to the size and status of the fire was at 9:41 p.m. on the same night.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
