Two cyclists in their 60s were hit by a vehicle in the Ville-Marie borough of Montreal Thursday. Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 around 5:10 p.m. call reporting a collision between the cyclists and a car near the intersection of Sainte-Catherine and Frontenac streets. Police say the cyclists who were heading eastward on Sainte-Catherine Street were reportedly hit by a car heading north on Frontenac Street.

The men were taken hospital with injuries. The 65-year-old is in critical condition, while the other, 61, is out of danger, said SPVM spokesperson Manuel Couture. The driver of the vehicle, a 41-year-old man was met by investigators to understand the circumstances that led to the collision.

He was not injured. Traffic was closed for several hours during the police operation at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
