Ontario Provincial Police say two people are dead and three injured after a crash on Highway 401 in Mississauga.

2 dead, 3 injured in Highway 401 crash in Mississauga, OPP says Crash happened in 401's eastbound express lanes near Dixie Road on Wednesday morning Ontario Provincial Police say two people are dead and three injured after a crash on Highway 401 in Mississauga. The crash occurred in the eastbound express lanes of the highway near Dixie Road shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday. Police say a 53-year-old woman and an 80-year-old man, both from Cambridge, Ont., were pronounced dead at the scene.

Three people were also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, they say. Police say parts of Highway 401 east were closed for several hours but have since reopened. Anyone who witnessed the collision has been asked to contact investigators.
