Officials with the Norfolk County Fire Department say a massive barn fire has killed 20,000 hogs. Emergency crews were called to a farm on Highway 3, just outside Simcoe, Ont., at about 6:45 a.m. Forty firefighters from eight stations responded to the blaze, which engulfed the entire structure.
No injuries have been reported. At the peak of the response, there were eight stations, 40 firefighters, and 15 apparatus on scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
However, officials say the blaze is not considered suspicious.
