AFRY Q2 sales edge past estimates as restructuring wraps up
Gold slips as oil rally revives inflation concerns despite softer U.S. CPI Investing.com -- Swedish engineering consultancy AFRY reported second-quarter net sales of SEK 6.51 billion, slightly above the SEK 6.48 billion average estimate from four analysts. The figure represented a 2.4% decline from the prior year period. Adjusted EBITA for the quarter came in at SEK 434 million, missing the SEK 473.88 million consensus estimate from four analysts.
The company reported EBITA of SEK 379 million and EBIT of SEK 336 million for the period. AFRY said it completed its restructuring program aimed at optimizing its portfolio and adjusting capacity. The company noted a higher order backlog and utilization rate, though these improvements have not yet appeared in the financial results.
Calendar effects negatively affected both net sales and EBITA during the quarter, according to the company. AFRY said it is now shifting its focus to organic growth to capture profitability improvements.
