Air quality remains an issue today with an orange alert from Environment Canada still in effect.

we are having some major issues in and around the region,” said CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. Atchison said temperatures could be affected this afternoon, adding we may not get quite as hot as 29 degrees. Conditions should improve before the weekend.

“Friday, we have sunshine on the way. Friday night, the chance for rainfall showers in the forecast,” said Atchison. “Saturday, we are back into a mix of sun and cloud.”

In the meantime, Atchison is advising, “Avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially when we are into these air quality issues. Smoke and haze will be an issue through the day today.” Here’s a look at the rest of the forecast Thursday: Mainly cloudy.

UV index 9 or very high. Thursday night: Clear.
