Dale sits eighth in the WCBL in home runs with seven on the summer. Playing in his third summer with the Mavs, Dale sits fifth in RBIs with 39 and second in doubles with 16, only behind teammate and fellow all-star Carter Roth. He’ll face off against 10 other all-stars and Fort McMurray Giants pinch-hitting nominee Jordan Green who was not named to the all-star game but will swing in the derby.

King is hitting .329 in his second summer with the Mavs, with 27 hits in 22 games, adding 10 RBIs. The bunt competition and home run derby will be held on Saturday, with a little league home run derby sandwiched in between. Sunday will see the all-stars from the 12 WCBL clubs face off.

Dale, King and Roth will be joined by starting pitcher Derek Archer and reliever Tanner Hail as the Mavs’ five representatives at the league event. The Mavs lost 11-1 Wednesday night in Okotoks, mercy-ruled in the eighth inning. It’s the second time in the last three games they were subjects of the WCBL’s mercy rule.

Josh Stark had an RBI single in the top of the third for the Mavs’ lone run before Okotoks responded with an eight spot. The Mavs hosted the Saskatoon Berries on Thursday for the first of a two-game set against the WCBL all-star game hosts. 13 -12
