North Carolina Construction News staff writer Bouygues Construction has completed its acquisition of North Carolina-based Vannoy Construction, expanding the French company’s presence in the southeastern United States. The acquisition closed June 30. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Vannoy Construction, founded in 1952 and headquartered in Jefferson, North Carolina, operates seven offices across North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The company provides commercial construction services for public and private clients in the health care, education, manufacturing and retail sectors. Bouygues Construction said Vannoy reported revenue of €873 million in 2025.

Bouygues reported 2025 revenue of €10.6 billion. The acquisition expands Bouygues’ U.S. operations, which include projects in Florida, Rhode Island and the Washington area. The company said the deal positions it for growth in the Southeast, where population growth has fueled investment in infrastructure, health care, education, industrial facilities and data centers.

Bouygues said Vannoy will continue operating under its existing name and leadership. The company said the acquisition will give Vannoy access to Bouygues’ engineering expertise, technical resources and international network while maintaining its current management team and brand. “This acquisition is a landmark in strengthening our operations in the United States,” Bouygues Construction CEO Pierre-Éric Saint-André said in a statement.

Vannoy President Mark Vannoy said the acquisition marks “an evolution, not a break with the past.” “Our employees, our clients and our partners can count on continuity above all else,” Vannoy said. “There will be no change in the management team, the brand or the culture.”

Founded by Jim and Wilma Vannoy in Jefferson, Vannoy Construction has grown into one of the Southeast’s largest general contractors, serving public and private clients throughout the region.
