Brandon’s mayor is set to provide another flood update Monday morning as the city braces for peak water levels in the area. The Assiniboine River is expected to reach its peak Monday and remain there for a couple days. In preparation for the forecasted peak, the city has been laying out sandbags and tiger dams to protect homes.

Evacuation notices have also been issued, giving residents in evacuation zones the ability to understand the situation if an evacuation order is put in place. Currently, there are no evacuation orders in effect in Brandon. Mayor Jeff Fawcett will provide the update at 10 a.m. CTV News will live stream the announcement.

More details to come.
