Buttar rides to Cup Series win in front of sold-out Kelowna crowd Buttar wins bull riding event Dakota Buttar delivered a perfect performance in front of a record-setting, sold-out crowd at Prospera Place Thursday night, winning the PBR Canada Cup Series' Okanagan Challenge. The two-time PBR Canada champion went 2-for-2 on the night, opening with an 85.4-point ride on Bad Magic in Round 1 before choosing to face God Bless in the championship round, where he posted an event-best 88.2 points to seal the win. The victory was Buttar's first of the 2026 season and pushed him closer to the top of the national standings, where he sits third with 493.50 points, trailing leader Nick Tetz by 499.33.

Tetz, who came into the night as the national points leader, finished fourth after being bucked off in the championship round in just over four seconds, following an 85.3-point opening ride. Lonnie West finished second, the only other rider besides Buttar to go 2-for-2 on the night, while Griffin Koester rounded out the podium in third after a strong Round 1 showing. Dirty Habits, a bull from Legend Rodeo, was named Bull of the Event after a 44.1-point outing in the championship round.

The PBR Canada Cup Series now takes a roughly two-month break before resuming Sept. 26 in Grande Prairie, Alta., for the PBR Peace Country Invitational.
