Central Saanich motorcyclist fined after burnout ends in crash Published 12:50 pm Wednesday, July 15, 2026 A motorcyclist was fined and had their motorcycle impounded after attempting a burnout that ended in a single-vehicle crash in Central Saanich on Tuesday morning. Central Saanich Police responded to the collision at about 8:30 a.m. on July 14 at the intersection of Wallace Drive and West Saanich Road.

Police said the rider attempted a burnout but lost control, causing the motorcycle to slide across the intersection. The rider was not injured, and the incident caused only minimal traffic disruption. Police issued the driver a violation ticket for driving without due care and attention, which carries a $368 fine and six penalty points.

The motorcycle was also impounded for seven days. Central Saanich police reminded motorists that stunting is both dangerous and illegal, urging all road users to prioritize safety and help keep roads safe for everyone.
