CLF B.C. works to accelerate the transition to lower carbon buildings through research, education, and collaboration, and its annual awards recognize organizations across British Columbia that are leading the way in addressing embodied carbon. Embodied carbon refers to the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the materials and processes used to construct buildings, including the extraction, manufacturing, transportation, and installation of materials like concrete, steel, and wood.
