Columneetza woodshop students make trail bridge at Williams Lake Dairy Fields Published 9:37 am Wednesday, July 15, 2026 Columneetza Junior Secondary has added its stamp of completion to a small bridge at one of the hiking trails in Williams Lake in an area known as the Dairy Fields. Before the end of the school year students and woodshop teacher David Denman put together another community project. “We went ahead and built a small bridge for one of the trails in the dairy fields,” Denman said of the project that kept on the down low and put together last minute.

The project was done by Grade 9 students who signed their names with wood burners on the side of the bridge. On local Facebook pages, including Williams Lake Area Updates & News Reports, it has received positive feedback. Columneetza students earlier this year worked with Lake City Secondary School Grade 11 and 12 students to make wooden trunk storage boxes for Williams Lake RCMP detachment vehicles.
