In an email statement, CPKC confirmed that crews repositioned the involved railcars overnight. Track repairs and safety inspections were completed, and the corridor was reopened on Tuesday morning.

The affected railcars will be unloaded and ultimately removed from the site this week. The 13 derailed cars were carrying construction materials, including lumber, plywood, propane and argon, as confirmed by responders on Monday. A barrier has been placed in the Priddis Slough to contain the debris.

CPKC confirmed there were no injuries, no leaks and no risk to public safety. The Transportation Safety Board has opened an independent investigation into the incident.
