Article content This week’s Corner features Bruce Getschel’s 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS. The car was found in a field just outside of Redwater. The car was restored to factory specifications but upgraded with a 6.2L LT engine from a 2017 Chevy High Country truck.
We paired that with a 4L80E transmission and a 3.73 posi rear differential and 4 wheel disc brakes conversion to support the added driveline upgrades. L-Jay Autobody did the body and paint work. Bruce Getschel, and his son Don Getschel built the rest of the car in memory of Don’s mother, Heather Getschel, who passed away from cancer in 2021.
Recommended Videos “We completed the car in August 2021 and took it to her hometown on Vancouver Island for a memorial cruise. It has about 500 HP and is a lot of fun to drive,” said Don. Founded in 2005, the Beaumont Dream Cruizers (BDC) are a no restrictions vehicle club that hosts cruises, parades, and show & shines.
The Cruizers Corner is a monthly vehicle feature from the BDC.
