Dominik Drabek was selected in the second round by Penticton in the CHL Import Draft

Czech winger, 17, signs with WHL’s Penticton Vees Published 12:10 pm Tuesday, July 14, 2026 The Penticton Vees’ second-round pick in the CHL Import Draft has put pen to paper on a deal with the club. Dominik Drabek, 17, signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Vees ahead of the 2026-2027 campaign.

The Olomouc, Czechia native spent last season with HC Dynamo Pardubice U17, where he put up 35 points in 24 games. He also appeared in one game with the U20 team. “Adding a player like Dominik reflects the type of compete and character we’re prioritizing within our organization,” Vees director of scouting Adam Sergerie said.

“He’s a responsible, high-energy forward who plays hard in all three zones and is a very cerebral hockey player with the puck on his stick.” Drabek was selected 119th overall by Penticton in last month’s CHL Import Draft. The 5’10, 185-pound winger has also represented Czechia internationally at the U16 and U17 levels.

“He has demonstrated he can produce against top U17 competition in Czechia,” Sergerie said. “We’re excited to bring him into our development environment and help him navigate the transition to North American hockey as he works toward becoming a consistent, impactful contributor for the Vees.”
