The Golden Nordic Ski Club is looking for community members to step forward as it prepares for the 2026-27 ski season. While winter may feel far away, club volunteers are already working behind the scenes at Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre, including renovations to the chalet suite after many years of rental use. The club is also facing several upcoming gaps in its leadership team and is seeking to fill the positions of president, treasurer and two board members at large.

Club officials say the roles are important to keeping the organization running smoothly and ensuring the workload remains manageable for volunteers. “For over 20 years, the club’s leadership has worked really hard to get us where we are today,” the club said in its release. “We are proud of what has been accomplished and do not want to hit a wall because of vacancies on the 2026-2027 board.”

The Golden Nordic Ski Club operates Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre, which includes 33 kilometres of groomed trails for classic and skate skiing, along with 4.6 kilometres of marked snowshoe trails accessible from the chalet. The club also maintains a geothermal-heated log chalet with rentals, washrooms, changing space, kitchenette and seating area for members and visitors. Those interested in learning more about the board positions can contact Tracey Buckley at secretary@goldennordicclub.ca.
