The Dawgs ran into a roadblock in Sylvan Lake Thursday night, as the Gulls interrupted a four-game winning streak with an 8-3 victory over Okotoks.

The Dawgs ran into a roadblock in Sylvan Lake Thursday night, as the Gulls interrupted a four-game winning streak with an 8-3 victory over Okotoks. Nash Crowell had a pair of hits for the Dawgs, along with Eric Machej, who had two hits and scored a run. Ricky Sanchez drove in two runs and went 1-for-4 for Okotoks.

Brody Papay allowed two runs and struck out five in four and two-thirds, but Sylvan Lake sprang leaks in the Okotoks bullpen, scoring two in the 7th and four more in the 8th inning to cruise to the victory. Jonboy Rittenhouse went 2 for 3 for the Gulls, scored three runs, hit a home run and drove in two. Coleman Perry went 1 for 3 with a home run and four RBI for Sylvan Lake, whose record improved to 27-11, tying them with Okotoks for first place in the western division.

The two clubs do it again Friday night at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
