An individual was found dead Tuesday morning near a recreation facility in Winnipeg’s Elmwood neighbourhood, police have confirmed. The Winnipeg Police Service said officers responded to a report of a “medical incident” in the 600 block of Bowman Avenue just before 8 a.m. A police spokesperson told CTV News that officers arrived on scene and located an individual who was found deceased.
Police tape was visible Tuesday afternoon near the East End Cultural and Leisure Centre, cordoning off an area next to what appears to be an encampment. The spokesperson said the service does not have any additional information to share at this time.
