Kelowna Horse riders rescued after getting tossed by their mounts Published 9:29 am Wednesday, July 15, 2026 A pair of injured horse-riders were saved by Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR). According to COSAR, the riders were using the multi-use trails off June Springs Road when they were thrown from their horses after the animals were spooked by descending mountain bikers.

The incident happened at around 11 a.m. on July 14. Colleagues of the horse riders stayed at the scene to provide initial care to the fallen riders. COSAR’s medical team, E-bike, ATV and UTV teams were sent to assist with the rescue.

“The subjects were quickly assessed, stabilized and handed off to the ambulance at around 1 p.m. for transport to Kelowna General Hospital.”
