A Free Press reader says Westmount Commons would be an ideal space for offices.

Why would business locate downtown?

City staff wants offices to be downtown and not in the suburbs? Westmount Commons would be ideal for offices as it has lots of underground and surface parking and some food locations. The bigger question here is why would any business want to locate in the current homeless and drug-infested downtown?

I doubt any business would want to expose their staff to that type of environment. Dave Mathers, St. Thomas Safeguard our nurses We often hear on the news that so many hospital staff such as nurses are regularly assaulted by disgruntled people seeking medical help and treatment. This is one of many reasons so many nurses and nurses’ aides are quitting their much valued positions and there is not a hospital in Canada that is exempt from this abuse, be it physical or verbal.

My suggestion therefore would be that the perpetrator of this abuse be escorted from the hospital immediately, never be allowed to return for medical treatment and have their name shared with any other medical facility in that city, be it another hospital or clinic. Something must be urgently done to keep our nurses at their jobs. Genevieve Grech, London
