Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after a man was allegedly stabbed in a brawl in the Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension borough Wednesday night. SPVM received several 911 calls at around 10:15 p.m. reporting a person injured with a sharp object, near the corner of 20th Avenue and Villeray Street. When officers arrived, they found the 31-year-old man in Gary Longhi Park with injuries to his upper body.

He was conscious when being taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition. According to initial reports, a conflict escalated between several people in a park resulting in the stabbing, said SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils. Witnesses are being investigated and police are looking for security camera footage in the area.
