No injuries reported after fire at Prince George home Published 11:49 am Wednesday, July 15, 2026 A loud explosion and black smoke were seen in Prince George after a structure fire broke out on the 2300 block of Quince Street. On July 14, at approximately 1 p.m., Prince George Fire Rescue deployed three fire halls to respond to a fire at one half of a duplex, it said in a media release. “First arriving crews found heavy smoke coming from the rear of a duplex and large flames exiting from a rear bedroom,” it said.
Neighbour Marion Teichman took to Facebook, saying, “Something blew up,” in a post on the EVERYTHING Prince George group. Fire crews quickly knocked down the flames to prevent fire spreading to adjacent homes. “No injuries were reported.
Damage is estimated at $300,000 and the cause of the fire is under investigation,” the release reads. The fire department added that residents of the adjoining suite returned home safely after the fire was extinguished.
