Norfolk suspends tire drop-offs at two transfer stations

Recommended Videos “Norfolk County has historically accepted tires through Ontario’s Extended Producer Responsibility program to support responsible disposal and help reduce illegal dumping,” explained Katherine McCurdy, director of customer service and communications for Norfolk County.

“Due to ongoing province-wide collection delays and no confirmed pickup date despite repeated efforts by County staff and program partners, tire acceptance has been temporarily suspended until the current stockpile is removed.” Residents are encouraged to use the RPRA Where to Recycle tool to locate alternative collection locations and make contact to be sure they will accept tires. In the meantime, the county continues its efforts to have the stockpile removed and re-establish a reliable collection service.
