The New York Rangers and Braden Schneider have reached a settlement.

Schneider has inked a one-year contract worth $5.5 million with the Rangers to avoid a salary arbitration hearing, per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. The hearing was scheduled for July 29, according to PuckPedia. Schneider, 24, recorded two goals and 16 assists in 82 games with the Rangers last season.

The right-shot defenceman from Prince Albert, Sask., has appeared in 368 career NHL games, all with New York, posting 20 goals and 67 assists. He was drafted 20th overall by the Rangers in 2020.
