Trent Jr. and the Bucks came to an agreement on the four-year deal on July 11, keeping him in Milwaukee through the 2029-30 season. He originally joined the Bucks as a free agent ahead of the 2024-25 season, signing a two-year vet minimum with a player option in the second year. Then, in July 2025, he opted out of the deal and signed another two-year deal with a player option in Year 2.

This summer, after getting bird rights, he put pen to paper on the four-year deal with Milwaukee. However, it comes after a lacklustre season with the Bucks, during which he averaged 8.1 points, 1 rebound and 1.2 assists in only 21.2 minutes per game. He laced up for 65 contests, but came off the bench in all but 21 of them.
