For most of 2026 so far, semiconductor stocks (and, in particular, memory manufacturers) have only moved in one direction together: upward in a vertical line. The past few weeks, however, have shown that the rally is at risk of breaking as investors question the durability of Summary - Sandisk has surged ~6x YTD and ~40x YoY, vastly outpacing Micron, but now faces a sharp pullback from June highs.
- I downgrade SNDK to a sell, citing overextended valuation, rally exhaustion, and increased risk from hyperscaler capex cycle uncertainty. - SNDK's revenue is more concentrated in data center clients, making it more vulnerable to a potential hyperscaler demand cliff than MU. - I see greater long-term risk for SNDK versus Micron, which I prefer as a long-term hold in the memory sector.
