Sinnissippi Centers is best known for offering behavioral healthcare services to the community, but did you know we also offer primary care medical services to our clients? Primary care services are offered from five of our seven offices: Dixon-Route 2, Freeport, Oregon, Rochelle, and Sterling. Offering primary care services on site helps ensure that critical elements of preventive health care like mammograms, colonoscopies, low-dose cat scans, and pap smears are available or referred to appropriate specialists.

Sinnissippi’s primary care provider is Family Nurse Practitioner Kristina Mershon. Offering primary care alongside our behavioral healthcare services is a comprehensive approach to client wellness and provides a very convenient service to clients. Services include annual wellness visits, health and wellness screenings, preventive care and screenings, acute illness visits for established clients, and chronic disease management.

This includes assessing, diagnosing, managing, and treating chronic illnesses like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and other chronic conditions. Services also include referrals to external providers and services when needed, and close collaboration and communication between primary care and mental health staff is prioritized. Sinnissippi tries to make accessing primary care services as convenient as possible by including the ability to conduct some lab testing on site and also by having Genoa Pharmacy on site at the Dixon-Route 2 office.
