The blaze began on Summit Avenue, says City of Victoria spokesperson Colleen Mycroft.

Fire crews in Victoria doused a brush fire south of Mayfair Mall late Saturday morning. City of Victoria spokesperson Colleen Mycroft said the blaze began on Summit Avenue, near the former location of a Canadian Tire. She said one engine responded to the fire, which spread from the brush to a fence.

Mycroft said no one was injured and the cause of the blaze is not yet determined, though it’s likely to have been human-caused.
