The warning, issued by Environment Canada at 3:32 p.m., was for a severe thunderstorm being tracked near Warner, about 65 kilometres southeast of Lethbridge.
The storm, which Environment Canada said was possibly producing a tornado, was being tracked moving southeast at 30 kilometres per hour. The agency said damaging winds, large hail and intense rainfall are also possible, and that anyone in the area should take shelter if threatening weather approaches. A tornado watch was also issued for the surrounding area, including Lethbridge, Fort Macleod and the Municipal District of Willow Creek, at 3:14 p.m.
