Victim was punched ‘multiple times’ on Churchill Avenue

Police said the victim received minor injuries from the assault

Sault police officers charged a 57-year-old man early Saturday morning after someone was punched several times on Churchill Avenue. At around 4 a.m., a 911 caller reported a disturbance in the 0-100 block of Churchill Avenue. “An investigation revealed the accused had punched a victim multiple times, causing minor physical injuries.

The victim and accused are known to one another,” police said in a news release. The accused was located nearby and arrested. When they searched him, officers found 7.68 grams of suspected fentanyl, the release said.

Robert Pozzo is charged with: - Assault - Possession of Schedule I Substance (Fentanyl) - Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2 None of the allegations have been tested in court and Pozzo is considered innocent until proven guilty. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
