The fire is burning out of control over four hectares as of Wednesday evening, and suspected to be human-caused. "The Village is aware of a wildfire currently visible from Pemberton on One Mile Lake Hill," the Village of Pemberton said on its website.
"BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) crews are responding, and additional resources are being deployed. The fire (V30852) is currently mapped on the BCWS wildfire map and is believed to be located outside the Village of Pemberton boundary. "At this time, no evacuation alerts or orders are in place for the Village.
