The BC Wildfire Service currently has one initial attack crew deployed to the fire on the ground, and two helicopters.

The most recent size for the fire was 0.009 hectares, but it will likely be larger once a more accurate size estimate of its borders can be collected. The fire is not located near any communities, and the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen does not currently have any properties on evacuation alert or order due to the fire. More details will be shared as they become available.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the region — including Summerland, Penticton and Osoyoos — at 4:40 p.m. It comes about five hours after ECCC hit the area with a heat warning as daytime temperatures reached 35 C. At about the same time as the wildfire near Keremoes another blaze was reported southeast of Lake Country.
