A warning to drivers, a Windsor commuter route will be closed for several months.

A warning to drivers, a Windsor commuter route will be closed for several months. Starting Tuesday at 6:30 a.m., Drouillard Road and Wyandotte Street East will be closed to all traffic. It’s so that crews can repair the Via Rail bridge over the roadway.

Traffic on Drouillard will be rerouted between Edna and Riverside, while motorists will be diverted on Wyandotte from Cadillac to Albert. The project work includes removal and replacement of security fencing, structural steel repairs, blast cleaning and resealing of the steel bridge structure. In addition, improved drainage is to be added and concrete repairs carried out.

This construction is expected to take until Oct. 23.
