Yellowknife motorcyclist medevaced to Edmonton after crash on Ingraham Trail

The driver tried to pass another vehicle in an unsafe spot, then veered left into the ditch to avoid oncoming traffic, according to RCMP.

At approximately 6 p.m. Monday, the driver was travelling east on the Ingraham Trail when he tried to pass another vehicle in an unsafe spot, an RCMP news release said. The man, 53, veered left into the ditch to avoid oncoming traffic.

Yellowknife emergency services brought him to Stanton Territorial Hospital and he was later medevaced to Edmonton. The Ingraham Trail, Highway 4, was closed for a few hours to allow RCMP to analyze the scene. RCMP say the investigation is ongoing but they don’t believe impairment or road conditions to be factors in the crash.
