100 Mile House RCMP seek to identify B&E suspect Published 3:29 pm Tuesday, July 14, 2026 100 Mile House RCMP are seeking to identify a man who allegedly broke into a property on Horse Lake Road last week. Sgt. Brian Lamb said this incident was reported to the RCMP on July 8 as an active break and enter.

The incident occurred along the 6000 block of Horse Lake Road and while the residence was unoccupied at the time, the property owners were able to view the suspect in real time using their surveillance system. “Police attended and cleared the property, but no one was located,” Lamb said. “A surveillance image of the suspect was obtained.”

This investigation remains ongoing, with anyone who recognizes the suspect asked to call the 100 Mile House RCMP. This incident was one of 105 calls for service the RCMP responded to last week. Truck collides with low-hanging cables Earlier in the week, on July 7, a single-vehicle collision on Bell Road was reported to police.

Lamb said that a large vehicle was travelling along Bell Road when it came into contact with some “low-hanging cable wires from a utility pole.” These cables then sheared the top off the roof of the vehicle. “Occupants from the vehicle were able to free themselves and were not injured,” Lamb said.

“BC Hydro as well as Telus were called to attend to deal with the downed lines.” Chainsaw stolen On July 9, the RCMP received a report of a theft at a residential property on the 800 block of Spruce Avenue. Sometime between July 1 and 6, a Husqvarna 365 X-Torq chainsaw was taken from a shed.

Various tools stolen Another break-and-enter of a residence located on Netherlands Road South was reported to the RCMP on July 10. Sometime between July 7 and the date of the report, a structure on the property was entered by an unknown individual. A chainsaw, air compressor, lawn mower and various DEWALT power tools were taken.

“A vehicle on the property was also entered where the window was smashed to gain entry,” Lamb noted. Vehicle stolen On July 11, the RCMP received a report of a theft of a vehicle taken from a residence on the 3000 block of Dodge Road. Sometime in the previous 10 days, Lamb said, a grey 2002 Honda Accord with BC license plate A01 3VJ was taken.

It has not been recovered. Stolen vehicle recovered RCMP recovered a vehicle stolen from Clinton in 100 Mile House on July 11. Lamb said the RCMP received a report of a possible stolen vehicle that had been left abandoned in a parking lot on the 500 block of Cedar Avenue.

On arrival, officers located a white 2020 Ford F-350, which had been reported stolen from Clinton earlier that day. The vehicle has since been returned to its owner. Two vehicles collide A two-vehicle head-on collision occurred along Highway 97 near Lac La Hache on Sunday.

Lamb said this incident occurred near Ferguson Road in Lac La Hache, with RCMP attending alongside emergency health services. On arrival, officers found two vehicles that had suffered significant damage. “It was determined that a vehicle travelling north had crossed the centre line into the south-bound lane, which resulted in impact,” Lamb said.

“An occupant from each vehicle sustained injuries that were undetermined but believed to be non-life-threatening.” Both individuals were transported to the Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake for further treatment. Lamb said this incident remains under investigation, but impairment is not believed to be a factor.

Wallet stolen from vehicle A wallet was stolen from a vehicle parked along the 6000 block of Highway 24 on Sunday, July 12. A debit card from that wallet was later used at locations in both Lone Butte and 100 Mile House. Lamb said the incident remains under investigation.

Lawnmower stolen On July 13, the RCMP received a report of a theft from a property on Netherlands Road South. A Craftsman ride-on lawn mower, various vehicle components from a 1995 Dodge Ram truck, an Echo wood chipper and various other items were taken. Lamb said the incident is believed to have occurred sometime in the last two months.
