Check out 17 Xbox Game Pass games that got free updates and patches this week
This week, 17 Xbox Game Pass games got title updates and patches full of new content and fixes to check out, so let's dive in and check out all the latest releases you might've missed. Without a doubt, Palworld got the biggest title update of this past week, and seeing as over 400% more Xbox players rushed to the game after Version 1.0 launched on July 10, we suspect few of you actually missed this one. Check out the full list of changes and the updated list of Palworld achievements for a complete picture of everything that changed, but in short, almost every element of the game got fresh content in time for the game's V1.0 release.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fpGg9wNM9A Alongside the release of Doom: The Dark Ages' premium story DLC, Revelations, the game also got a free Ripatorium 1.0 update that all Game Pass subscribers on the Premium, Ultimate, and PC Game Pass tiers can check out. Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can also check out the Adaptive Measures DLC for Subnautica 2 this week, which reworks Blight encounters, updates the game's UI, and more.
Obsidian Entertainment delivered another update to 2015's Pillars of Eternity this past week, tweaking the more recent turn-based combat mode (note that the update only applies to Game Pass subscribers playing on PC; the game's console port was handled by a third-party developer and won't be updated). Meanwhile, Rare has shipped out a minor update for Sea of Thieves, amending the balance of the Chest of Fortune events and fishing out rewards appropriately. In what will likely be its final update before it leaves Xbox Game Pass on July 15, Stellaris has walked back an issue affecting Science Ships that would see them lost forever when exploring Astral Rifts.
All Xbox Game Pass subscribers, including those on the Essential tier, can check out the launch of Season 1: Return of the Thieves Guild for The Elder Scrolls Online — very much the highlight of the game's July 2026 roadmap. Also available to all subscribers is the latest Disney Dreamlight Valley update, with the new Honeyglow Woods DLC adding an improved fast travel for all players, even those who don't opt into the premium Winnie the Pooh pack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jlOPy1PREk Co-op Game Pass shooter
Abyssus got a hotfix this week that lets you fill all the slots in the Soul Wheel and adds Lobby Codes for players trying to connect with one another directly. Elsewhere in co-op Game Pass games, Frog Sqwad now lets you rebind your controls and has delivered a fix that should make the "Leave No Survivors" challenge (Kill every enemy on a Day 3+) in your Frog Sqwad achievements unlock as intended. Game Pass Premium RTS Manor Lords release its seventh major update this week, greatly improving the pathfinding of its AI, adding gamepad controls, and delivering a major balance rework to the in-game economy.
Elsewhere in medieval Game Pass title updates, MMORPG Pax Dei has released a new update that adds 300 in-game achievements to accompany the 10 Pax Dei achievements you can earn beyond the game. The new update also adds huntable birds, revamped archery systems, and loads more content. Alongside the launch of the new premium Clone Drone in the Danger Zone DLC, the 'Night Mode Pack,' the online robot battler added free commentator skins, new Team Battle levels, and a bunch of new Clone Drone in the Danger Zone achievements for Game Pass subscribers to unlock.
A new update for inKonbini adds remappable controls in the game's settings. There's a hotfix for Dead by Daylight that reintroduces The Doctor for the 10th Anniversary Event queue and fixes a bunch of minor bugs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXz31H6r0D8 Xbox PC players can check out Heroes of Might and Magic:
Olden Era's Patch #12, which fixes a few issues that cropped up after the release of the Necromancy rework from Patch #11. And finally, ARK: Survival Ascended got a ton of fixes following the release of Genesis Ascended Part 1 last week, with a pernicious Xbox audio bug that knocked out all sound on the platform being an important one for Game Pass subscribers.
