Anytime Fitness was proud to celebrate their grand opening and ribbon cutting at the Trenton Homestead Marketplace on Monday. With just over 300 locations open across Canada, this fitness centre is owned by local management proud to serve the Quinte region. MPP Tyler Allsopp and Mayor Jim Harrison were among those who presented Anytime Fitness with certificates for their commitment to health and wellness in the Bay of Quinte.

The brand new fitness centre includes strength, cardio, and functional areas, but is also looking to build a recovery area to coincide with the fitness training nutrition recovery (TNR) feature in the Anytime Fitness app. The fitness centre is open 24 hours, seven days a week with members-only access outside of staff hours at the entrance. Staffed hours are also listed upon entry, with plenty of friendly faces eager to help.

“We have a great management team and everybody in there is fantastic. They really take pride in the gym and it shows,” says Brian Nelson, one of the owners of Anytime Fitness and a member of the master franchise Anytime Fitness Canada.

Nelson has been involved with the Anytime Fitness Canada team for approximately 12 years. Having grown up in Belleville, he wanted to come back to the Quinte region, working alongside the owners of Homestead Marketplace to get Anytime Fitness to where it is today. The Trenton facility is owned by Nelson and some of his close business partners from their Montreal location.

Although it is a global franchise, the owners of Anytime Fitness in Trenton are able to maintain local culture, which they say is very important to them. The team at this centre is proud to offer fitness and health, but they are also eager to get involved locally. Nelson says that the community initiatives at Anytime Fitness are aligned with those of Homestead Marketplace.

Anytime Fitness is also hoping to sponsor hockey teams and participate in fundraising in the future, as well as being active members of the community.
