A fire in Sarnia has led to attempted murder and arson charges.

A fire in Sarnia has led to attempted murder and arson charges. On July 9, emergency services responded to a blaze in the 1200 block of Wiltshire Drive. Four people were able to escape safely, before emergency services arrived.

Another person was found inside by firefighters. One person sustained minor injuries, while another sustained “serious, life-altering” injuries as a result of the fire, according to Sarnia police. Both are expected to recover.

The fire was put out, and a further investigation was carried out by Sarnia police and fire investigators. A 32-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both from Sarnia, have been charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of arson causing bodily harm. The man was also charged with failure to comply with a probation order.
