A Barrie man was charged in a disturbance at a campsite in the Huntsville area early Saturday morning.

A Barrie man was charged in a disturbance at a campsite in the Huntsville area early Saturday morning. According to Huntsville OPP, officers were called to reports of a disturbance at the Arrowhead Provincial Park campgrounds just after midnight. After finding a suspect, police say they he was showing signs of impairment and began investigating him for impaired driving.

The 46-year-old Barrie man was charged with operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs) and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams per 100 millilitres. He was released from custody and is scheduled for an August court date in Bracebridge. “Huntsville OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead if they choose to consume alcohol or drugs,” advised OPP Const.

Hope Long in a news release. “Consider using a designated driver, taxi, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impair your ability to operate a vehicle safely.”
