Belleville Car4Cancer Lottery raises nearly $295,000 for local cancer care

Article content The Belleville General Hospital Foundation has raised nearly $295,000 through its recent 2026 Car4Cancer Lottery, with two local residents taking home this year’s top prizes while helping advance cancer care across the Quinte region. Saprina Turner of Shannonville, a staff member at Belleville General Hospital, won the grand prize, a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe. Recommended Videos Don McColl of Frankford won the lottery’s 50/50 jackpot prize of $28,695.

The foundation said it is especially meaningful that both winners are local residents, with the Corvette prize going to a member of the Quinte Health team, reinforcing the incredible support the Quinte community continues to show for healthcare close to home. “The success of this year’s Car4Cancer Lottery is a reflection of what makes our community so special,” said Alec Bauer, interim executive director of the Belleville General Hospital Foundation. “Every ticket purchased represents someone choosing to support local cancer care and the families who rely on it.

Raising nearly $295,000 is an incredible achievement, and it’s especially exciting that both of this year’s winners are from our own community. Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket, shared the campaign, and helped make a difference for patients across the Quinte region.” Funds raised through the Car4Cancer Lottery will support Cancer Care at Belleville General Hospital, helping ensure patients across the Quinte region have access to exceptional cancer treatment, and support close to home.

The foundation also recognized the support of Peter Smith Chevrolet Buick GMC, whose partnership helped make this year’s grand prize possible. “Peter Smith GM has always deeply cared about the community we serve, and it is inspiring to know that through partnerships like Car4Cancer, we are helping make a meaningful difference for local patients and families,” said Nathan Pio of Peter Smith Chevrolet Buick GMC. “Congratulations to Saprina and Don, and thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket and supported cancer care in our community.”
