British roots, Kelowna pours: Bar Travelling Man opens its doors Published 5:15 am Friday, July 17, 2026 What started as an Instagram page to showcase various bars and lounges across B.C., as well as his talents, has turned into a full-time business venture for Harry Dosanjh. Formally from England, Dosanjh has worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years since arriving in Canada, making his way bartending at various locations as well as documenting the work of his fellow peers. This Instagram page started gaining traction, which led Dosanjh to create a full-time gig as a travelling bartender, complete with a trailer for mixing drinks.

“People started asking me, Oh, could you do a wedding? Could you bartend a private party or something like that? And it kind of grew and grew.

And then eventually, I just thought, you know what? Like, it’s probably the best route for me to go down,” he explained. For five years, Dosanjh took his trailer to different events, making a name for himself as an award-winning mixologist.

Then last year, he moved to a permanent brick-and-mortar establishment at 289 Bernard Avenue. “I had an opportunity to buy the old salt brick location. So, when Bar Travelling Man became a restaurant, I wanted to create a vibe that was fitting with the name.

I want it to be fun as well,” he said. Building on the inspiration of his years as a postmaster in a village outside Winchester, with a population of just 150. “My family took over the convenience store, and I became the sub-postmaster.

It was pretty amazing because when you crossed the street, there was a pub,” said Dosanjh. “We had a football field behind us. And, I had everything I needed in this small village.”

From the menus to the postbox outside to accents of red, Bar Travelling Man not only gives homage to Dosanjh’s past but also to a European style. “It is really casual, but really good service. I really want to go local.

We have a bar snack menu, and we have a regular menu as well. We’re really gearing up for kind of more tapas, street food kind of vibe,” he explained. Bar Travelling Man is open Wednesday to Sunday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
