Campbell River RCMP is asking the public to help identify two suspects linked to a string of break and enters and attempts that led to "substantial property damage and losses to local businesses" this week. Campbell River RCMP is asking the public to help identify two suspects linked to a string of break and enters and attempts that led to “substantial property damage and losses to local businesses” this week. Mounties say in the early hours of July 13 and 14, officers were called to three break and enters and two attempted break and enters at businesses in downtown Campbell River. Campbell River RCMP with assistance from Island District Forensic Identification Services responded to the calls.

Suspects entered the businesses by smashing the front glass doors and windows, according to investigators. Once inside, they stole a number of items before leaving, including cell phones, clothes, a hair dryer and baseball bats. In the two additional attempts, “the suspects were unable to gain entry but caused significant damage to the businesses during their attempts,” says Campbell River RCMP.

Police have released surveillance images of two suspects linked to the string of B&E’s and are asking the public to come forward if they can identify the individuals. One suspect is described based on surveillance as wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark shoes. The second suspect is described as wearing a light-coloured hooded sweatshirt, light-coloured sweatpants and dark footwear.

(Campbell River RCMP) “These incidents resulted in substantial property damage and losses to local businesses,” says Cpl. Brett Urano, RCMP spokesperson.

“We are asking anyone who recognizes the individuals in the photographs or who has information about these break-ins to contact investigators.” Anyone with information is asked to call Campbell River RCMP at 250-286-6221. To remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
