A 44-year-old man from Saint-Antoine, N.B., has died following a collision in Irishtown, N.B.

A 44-year-old man from Saint-Antoine, N.B., has died following a collision in Irishtown, N.B. The Caledonia RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Scotch Settlement Road and Route 115 around 11:49 p.m. Wednesday.

Download the CTV News App for breaking news alerts and video on all the top stories “The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver of a southbound vehicle turned onto Scotch Settlement Road and collided with a motorcycle travelling northbound on Route 115 in Irishtown,” reads a news release from the New Brunswick RCMP. Police say the Saint-Antoine man, who was the driver of the motorcycle, died at the scene. “The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 49-year-old woman from Cocagne, was arrested for impaired driving causing death and she was taken to the Codiac Regional RCMP Detachment for a breathalyzer test,” reads the release.

She has been released from custody and will appear in court at a later date. The investigation is ongoing and a New Brunswick RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist is assisting. For more New Brunswick news, visit our dedicated provincial page.
