Cornerstone Services in Joliet will offer mobile DMV and ICASH services Monday

Representatives from both the secretary of state’s office and the state treasurer’s office will be at Cornerstone Services’ McDonough Street office on Monday.

State Sen. Rachel Ventura’s office will be hosting a Mobile DMV and ICASH event as part of the ribbon-cutting at Cornerstone Services ’ McDonough Street office on Monday. The event will provide “a convenient way” for those receiving services through Cornerstone, and the community in general, to access DMV and ICASH service, Ventura, D- Joliet , said in news release. The event will cut down on wait times, she said, making the offices of the Illinois Secretary of State and Illinois Treasurer more accessible.

It also celebrates the opening of Cornerstone Services’ newest location in Joliet. “I look forward to Cornerstone being able to assist more people in District 43,” Ventura said. The new offices are located at 2705 McDonough St. Representatives from both the s ecretary of state’s office and the state treasurer’s office will be on-site to help residents access services from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday.

While DMV appointment slots for Monday have already been filled as of Thursday, the ICASH services are available on a walk-in basis. Staff from the state treasurer’s office will be available to help residents access Illinois’ unclaimed property program, which “helps reconnect individuals, families, and businesses with forgotten assets such as uncashed checks, dormant bank accounts, insurance proceeds, utility refunds, and other funds being held by the state,” according to the release. Following the service window, Cornerstone Services will host a ribbon cutting for the facility at 2 p.m. and residents will be welcomed for an open house until 4 p.m. Cornerstone Services regularly provides support for individuals with disabilities, which allow them to live and work in the community.

The new location will focus on providing behavioral health services. “Senator Ventura has been a fantastic advocate for Cornerstone and the people in Joliet and Will County who receive our services,” Cornerstone Services President and CEO Ben Stortz said. “There has been a longstanding need for increased behavioral health services in our community, and with the opening of our new behavioral health location in the heart of Joliet, we will be able to expand our presence and help more people,” he said.
