News release On June 24, 2026, Ralph Bernard Shaw, an inmate from Pacific Institution and Regional Treatment Centre, died while in our custody. June 25, 2026 – Abbotsford, British Columbia – Correctional Service Canada At the time of death, the inmate was 65 years old and had been serving a life sentence, which commenced on November 7, 2024.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified. As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires that the coroner be notified.
