May 23, 1947 - July 6, 2026 Douglas James Robertson was born in Edmonton on May 23, 1947, and died in Prince George on July 6, 2026, at age 79. Doug was a gregarious, helpful man who loved people, especially his family. He spent his career in sales, working in insurance, benefits, and vehicles — a good fit for his outgoing nature.
He volunteered widely, serving as a board member with the Chartered Life Underwriters Association, the Barracuda Swim Club, and AimHi. For many years, he served lunch most Fridays at the St. Vincent de Paul Drop In Centre. Doug is survived by his wife, Kay; his daughter, Tara, and her wife, Carolyn; and his son, James.
He was a proud grandfather to James’ four children: Ella, Evangeline, Chase, and Jove. He is also survived by his brother, Bruce, and Bruce’s wife, Maryvonne; his sisters, Kathleen and Peggy; and his nieces and nephews, Erin, Alix, Tom, and Simon. There will not be a public service.
The family will hold a private celebration. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the St. Vincent de Paul Society by dropping off cash or a cheque at the downtown office.
