Richmond RCMP say an e-scooter rider was hospitalized on Friday afternoon after colliding with a pickup truck.

Mounties in Richmond say an e-scooter rider was hospitalized on Friday afternoon after colliding with a pickup truck. Richmond RCMP say officers were called to the area of Westminster Highway and Minoru Boulevard at around 3:50 p.m. with reports of the collision. Photos from the scene showed a person on the ground in front of a white Dodge pickup truck while being attended to by pedestrians at first, before emergency crews stepped in.

“The e-scooter rider sustained injuries and is being transported to a local hospital for treatment and assessment,” Richmond RCMP said, in a statement. Mounties say they’re still investigating the incident and have asked anyone with information or dash cam footage related to the collision to call Richmond RCMP and quote file number 2026-21789.
