Google‘s latest personal AI agent is getting a massive productivity injection. Just two weeks after its last feature drop, Google has begun rolling out a highly anticipated suite of upgrades that allow Gemini Spark to interact directly with your files inside Google Workspace, as well as a nice speed boost. Gemini Spark gains superpowers to handle and edit your documents Instead of simply drafting text for you to copy and paste, Spark can now roll up its virtual sleeves and work directly inside your active documents.
Under the new rollout, the personal assistant can open, read, and edit Google Docs. Google has also expanded this capability across other Workspace applications. This allows Spark to modify private spreadsheets and presentations, read existing comments left on files, and make direct edits to shared team documents.
If your files need a visual touch, the AI can now search and insert images directly into your documents and slides or help you polish drafts using the Canvas panel.
