Habitat for Humanity Victoria hosts free session on affordable home ownership Published 9:00 am Friday, July 17, 2026 Families looking to understand better whether Habitat for Humanity Victoria is the right fit for their future can get the lowdown at an info session on Tuesday (July 21). Habitat invites individuals and families for a free session featuring information about the organization’s Affordable Homeownership Program and the coming Irwin Road development in Langford.

The information session will provide an overview, including eligibility requirements, the application process, homeowner responsibilities and what families can expect throughout their journey to homeownership. “Many families are surprised to find out they qualify for our program,” Habitat director of family services Tiffany Gates said. “People often think they don’t make enough, or that they make too much.

It can be eye-opening and give people a lot of hope to find out they could own a home.” Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and connect directly with Habitat staff. “We know there are families in our community who have steady incomes, work hard every day, and still believe homeownership is out of reach,” said HFHV CEO Carmen Rempel.

“This session is for them. We can’t wait to meet the people whose lives may be changed through affordable homeownership and help them take the first step toward a home of their own. “ Registration is free, but space is limited.
